These photographs show moments shared with women encountered during journeys across North Iceland - a country where women hold significant positions of power and where solo travel and hitchhiking are safe endeavours for women.  

These women embody resilience, adaptability and soft-heartedness, taking on diverse roles in working lives that are shaped by untamed weather and dramatic shifts in light across the seasons.
