These photographs show moments shared with women during journeys across North Iceland and Western Montana.

Across both, the land is mountainous, maternal and undulating and holds steadfastly while life is invited to unravel way out beyond the city gates. Summers are unrelenting with everlasting arctic light and the fiery elevation of the west, while winter brings darkness and unforgiving winds that do not lift. But for those that endure, wonderful pink and gold sunset skies reward another day’s embrace of unpredictability, grit and surrender.
